This isn't theory. Between Aug 2025 - Jan 2026, we scaled a UK casino affiliate site from €1,000/mo test spend to €52,000/mo profitably using Google Ads, Meta, and native. Here's exactly how we did it.

Phase 1: Testing (Months 1-2) — €1k-3k/mo

Goal: Find ONE winning GEO + offer + creative combo before scaling.

What Flopped

  • Taboola/Outbrain: €85-120 CPA → unprofitable
  • Reddit Ads: Banned after 48 hours (gambling policy)
  • Google Display: 0.3% CTR, €140 CPA

Key Lesson: Start with intent-based channels (search) before interruption channels (display/native).

Phase 2: Scaling (Months 3-4) — €3k-15k/mo

Goal: 3x spend on winning channels without killing ROI.

Month 3 Actions:

  1. Expanded keyword list — added 47 competitor brand variations
  2. Geographic bid modifiers — +40% London, +25% Manchester/Birmingham
  3. Device bid modifiers — +30% mobile (higher CVR)

Why Germany?

  • €1,000 deposit cap = lower player LTV BUT...
  • Lower CPCs (less competition)
  • Higher trust = better CVR

Approach:

  • Translated UK winning ads (professional, not Google Translate)
  • Partnered with German-licensed operators (€120-160 CPA)
  • Created .de landing pages with GGL compliance messaging

UK/DE operators pay €120-300 CPA. If we'd started with lower-tier markets (€60-80 CPA), we'd never have survived the learning phase.

2. Quality Score Obsession (Google Ads)

We hit 9/10 Quality Score on 80% of keywords by:

  • Exact-match landing pages for each operator keyword
  • Ad copy that mirrors search query ("LeoVegas review" → "LeoVegas Review 2026")
  • Fast page load (<1.2s LCP)

Impact: Competitors paid €1.20-1.80 CPC. We paid €0.45-0.85.
